My Story: Amber Gonzales

Amber began her career in the apartment industry through a friend in San Antonio who needed extra help. She started as a leasing consultant and quickly developed a passion for the work. However, after some time, her property manager left, and opportunities for advancement disappeared. When she realized there was no clear path to growth, Amber decided it was time to move on.

A Fresh Start in Austin

And move on she did. Amber packed her bags and left San Antonio in search of a new adventure and a fresh start in Austin. She arrived on a Monday, determined to build a new life and career. By Wednesday, everything had changed. A friend told her about Hire Priority, and she decided to stop by the office. She met the team, interviewed, and was immediately placed in a leasing consultant position.

Amber says she arrived in Austin unsure whether she would be able to stay. Within just a few days, thanks to Hire Priority, she was already working and building a new future.

Finding the Right Fit

She started as a temp at several apartment communities, gaining valuable experience at each one. Eventually, one of the communities offered her a full-time position. Although grateful, Amber decided to turn it down because it didn’t feel like the right fit. She continued working through Hire Priority until she was placed at The Edge at Easton in an administrative role.

There, Amber’s property manager quickly noticed her talent, drive, and professionalism. Impressed by her performance, he offered her a full-time position—not as a leasing consultant, but as an assistant manager. Amber gladly accepted the opportunity and has thrived ever since.

Passion, Growth, and Leadership

Today, Amber says she absolutely loves her job. Her advice to other job seekers is simple: if you want something badly enough and work hard, you will get noticed. The right opportunity will come, and it might be even better than you imagined.

Amber Gonzales now manages a team of twelve employees. She has a great mentor in her property manager, who shares her passion for their community. Amber says she feels supported by an amazing team and strong leadership. Her move to Austin has truly paid off—she is exactly where she wants to be, doing work she loves every day.
